MGS4 Gets a Perfect 10!

Well the UK Official Playstation Magazine being a part of Playstation would most assuredly give MGS4 a perfect 10! Is it well deserved?

Who knows! I do. . .not know if it's deserved, but after the jump are some more scans.

Also in the magazine are some more reviews.

Yes ladies and gentlemen, the review for the Booster Pack Operation: Broken Mirror for Warhawk is here!

The Description of Operation: Broken Mirror!

This is a hard place to start, but what the heck, I'll start at the beginning or where it all began. Well, I purchased Broken Mirror as soon as it came out and downloaded it and installed it and got the game up.

The first map I happened to get into, Olsavik Village. Oh. My. Goodness. This has got to be the best small layout of all, I love this place. Every building, I mean every building in this Village is accessible to all Troops. You can climb up the broken walls, the broken stairs, the intact stairs, go through doors, pick up weapon, climb on top to obtain Binocluars and reign havock on all below and each building is unique in its own way.

The Olsavik Village!

What's even cooler is that there's this GIGANTIC crevice surrounding Olsavik Village, and the Warhawk and Nemesis can go clear down to the bottom, but while progressing down, the fog gets thicker, until you hit the bottom, where you sort of see an outline of everything. Really great stuff. Two TOW's are located under, I wouldn't call them bridges, but bridges made out of the map itself, out of snow? Anyways, there's also Health and Chaff, oh and Swarm Missiles.

There are really nice hallow-esque places. There is this really nicely sized tunnel system, and by "nicely sized," I of course mean that you could fit every vehicle more than twice in a vertical position to reach the top. There are also some nice tunnels for the roads in the mountains, really great.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention snow. Although it's flawed. You can move your screen in any direction and the snow still falls from the same direction, move into a building and it still falls. The snow really dissapointed me, it's only on your screen and is really poorly done.

THE APC

Wow, how did I manage to make the APC last? After playing some DM's in Olsavik Village, I decided to test out how large this "large map" really was. I found out it was quite large! I also found out Warhawk's are awesome in Vaporfield Glacier, so nice and big. But besides that, I found myself staring at an APC.

My first reaction was, "OH YEAH I FORGOT ABOUT THE APC! THIS IS SO AWESOME, I'M GOING TO RIDE IT!" Immature? No, not at all, this APC is great. I love both the Eucadian and Chernovan APC's, but the Chernovan's "honk" sounds like a grabage truck's horn, or a semi's horn. Amazingly awesome!

The APC's!

I love the Boost, as soon as I found out double tapping R2 and holding down until I felt like it, I immediately used it. I even abused it! I love the E-POD as well. Perfect for those pesky Warhawk flies. Deploy it and watch the Warhawk flies go in and die. The E-POD is nice though because if you deploy it on the road, you can drive down and the E-POD is a full sphere and the Warhawk n00bs will run into them!

Well lets start things off with a bang. The legendary Super Smash Bros Brawl is obviously the best game on the Wii. This is not fanboy talk, this is the truth. But don't take my word for it, watch my six part review. Each video covers a part of Brawls many modes. There were really only five modes I made videos for, but one video was so long, I had to split it in half. That was group mode btw. The most used mode I am sure. But enjoy the review!

The New Weapons in V1.3!

You know, I really like this update, with the added Wrench and Bio-Field Generator, the game is really fun. But those aren't the only updated things.

Everytime someone talks, their name appears under the mini-map, which is quite nice.

HOME integration has been added.

You can no longer toss the flag. Say goodbye to stat padders.

Points for flag kills has been raised, but didn't pay too much attention to it.

The health bars are more lively, coloured a bit darker.

The Bio-Field Generator is nice as well, only heals troops, remember that.

All in all, I like V1.3, and I can't wait for Operation: Broken Mirror to add even more awesomeness to Warhawk.

The story of the American Sergeant Nathan Hale coming in to solve all of Britain's problems brought forth one of the most compelling and exciting FPS games ever. HALO who?

PixelJunk Monsters
The Second PixelJunk Game Has Arrived!

The PixelJunk Monsters Logo!

Story
Story, got to tell you, there really isn't a story or a huge plot, just like there wasn't one in PJRacers.

You first have waves of 10 with the last being a golden god-type statue that jumps slowly.

Towers
You have a variety of Towers to choose from:

A Hive Tower!

. . .

An Ice Tower!

Each Tower can be upgraded 4 times. Each Tower will start on a Green Flag, like a Level 1.

Easter Eggs/Goodies
. . .

Multi-Player
As previously mentioned, you can do 2-player co-op. This is a very fun addition to this game.

It really is just a much more awesome experience.

Remote Play
For those PS3 owners that also own a PSP, rejoice! PixelJunk Monsters can be played via Remote Play! Instead of always having to play in your nice comfy living room/bedroom, you can play on the way to school, during lunch break, when you're boss is gone, wherever, whenever.

A Fire Tower!

Assassins Creed is an incredibly fun game. It has it all, plot twists, idiotic moments, great graphics, the whole shibang. I would highly recommend playing it, though it goes by quickly so renting seems like the way to go.

Overall Score: 8.5

Omega Dawn in the Warhawk Playstation Store!

There are so many accessible places in this map as compared to the others, and there's so much more land, area, and more use of vertical buildings. The fortresses themselves are humongous!

A Red Dot signifies you either don't any add-on content in the rotation, or that you are not in the ranking zone the host has set up, so you can't join.

The Dropship is purely amazing, humongous, gigantic, a superpower, awesome and too easy to kill?

The Cannons can kill anything within a matter of 3 seconds if done correctly.

Well balanced, heck yes, but everyone is going for the Dropship. You get people trying to shoot down their team mates to get into it as it spawns, you have 3 people waiting for it to spawn when it's destroyed, and then you have just about every enemy you run across going for you!

Overall Score 9.5

Is Warhawk Still Good Without Single-Player?
Well if you look at it this way. . . .

Warhawk!

Ok, really though, what is this game? Well for starters, it's a Multi-Player game only. I mean you can play with yourself, but wtf. tongue

There are 9 troop weapons so far in Warhawk.

* Combat Mode - In Combat Mode You still hover, but move slower and have the 6 canons out, 3 on each side.

If you want to get into the vehicle, just aim your weapon more towards the person instead of the vehicle. You can actually use the Combat Blade and kill all 3 of the people in their respective seats.

All and all this game is amazingly fun and addictive.

Did Insomniac Games choose correctly when they chose not to include online?
Actually, they did.

What is a Lombax?

Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

Insomniac Games really pulled off on this game. The sheer depth in this game is amazing. Weapons, health, gadgets, upgrading, collecting - just wow.

* Levitate- Where you can levitate for about 3-4 seconds.

The Zoni also call Clank 'Sire' and they say 'ZONI' in that robotic way of theirs.

You can chat with him, learn some background information, you can get rides from him, you can get gadgets from him and you can get the RYNO IV after collecting the missing pieces to the Holo-Plan.

* RYNO IV- Press and hold R1 and you will see these red streams coming from your weapon, and it won't stop until you run out of ammo. Buy V6 and have it become the RYNO4EVER.

Ratchet doesn't know what the Lombax Secret is - it's a secret, but he's a Lombax, so Talwyn points out that that's ironic.

* No, Up YOUR Arsenal- Upgrade all the weapons to VX.

Glitches - like the ones that let you fly. . .
