Neversoft's Guitar Hero IV (PS3, PS2, X360, Wii) will feature custom song creation and multiple instruments when it arrives this fall, according to the June issue of Game Informer magazine.
As relayed by trustworthy NeoGAF user SolidSnakeX, the fourth Guitar Hero title will expand the series' offerings to include drum and vocal gameplay in addition to bass and guitar. It is not known if the controllers for Harmonix's multi-instrument music title Rock Band will be compatible.
The song creation functionality will somehow allow users to customize everything but vocals, though the specifics of this remain unclear. Users will apparently be able to upload and share songs on all platforms, and will even be able to create their own album art.
Four bands have been confirmed thus far for the game--Van Halen, The Eagles, Linkin Park and Sublime--with Neversoft noting that all songs within the game will be master tracks provided by record labels.
In addition to song creation, Guitar Hero IV is said to place a strong emphasis on player and instrument customization, in part due to the recent legal troubles with guitar maker Gibson.
Electronic Arts has announced that it is developing a direct sequel to EA Black Box's skateboarding title Skate (PS3, X360), referred to as simply Skate 2, along with separate Wii and Nintendo DS entries titled Skate It.
The Wii and Nintendo DS iterations of the series (both pictured below) are due out later this year. The Nintendo DS version will use the portable's touch screen to control tricks.
Along with motion-sensitive controls that "mirror actual skate flips and moves," the Wii edition of Skate It will support the Wii Balance Board that comes packed with Wii Fit.
As for Skate 2, it was only revealed that the sequel is due on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Released last fall, Skate and its thumbstick-centered control scheme outsold the competing Tony Hawk game by a ratio of 2:1, prompting Activision to halt its annual Tony Hawk iterations and rework the series. EA had previously noted that it planned more Skate games.
Reversing today's trend of rumors and unofficial assets, publisher Atari has issued several flame-filled screenshots from Eden Studios' Alone in the Dark.
The reimagining of the classic survival horror franchise is set to hit PC, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and Wii on June 24, with a PlayStation 3 version following later this year.
A while back, Kojima had an interview and what came out from his interview was that he either a)Didn't think MGS4 was good, b)The PS3 was not good or c)He wasn't satisfied with either MGS4 or the PS3.
Well, here's what he says happened: the translations broke down what he tried to say. He was being humble, but he assures us next time he does an American interview he'll say, "MGS4 is the best, the end."
On the internet, there's stuff saying "Hideo Kojima" isn't satisfied with the PS3. I'd like to talk about that today. I just got back from Paris and did 15 interviews and everyone asked me about it, did I say that. The meaning of what I said has totally been changed, made totally different. Today, I'd like to talk about that. Why did it turn into that? When I'm doing an interview, I answer in Japanese, and I can't control how the writer will interpret that into English... What I say is then translated in English, and the writer then changes that into their own words and writes that. So, right there, the meaning of what I say changes a lot.
Everything he says after the jump, including his astounding car analogy.
Pandemic parent Electronic Arts quietly revealed earlier this year that Pandemic, famous for Mercenaries and Star Wars: Battlefront, was working on a LOTR title, but no details were revealed.
Pandemic revealed Thursday that the new LOTR game is subtitled Conquest and will be an action title for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, DS and PC.
The game will be set in J.R.R. Tolkien's LOTR universe as depicted by Peter Jackson's hit movies, thanks to EA's partnership with New Line Cinema.
This time around, gamers will be able to play both good and evil sides of the LOTR conflict.
Pandemic general manager Josh Resnick said that Conquest will give gamers "full control of the blade, bow and magic to fight ... epic battles any way they want – even if they choose to play from the evil side.”
Release for Conquest is slated for fall this year.
Several new screenshots of Slant Six Games' SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation have been released, showcasing a few of the game's urban battlefields.
The online multiplayer-only shooter will be available as a retail release and a PlayStation Network download on September 16.
Coming this June for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and Nintendo DS is Top Spin 3, the newest installment in 2K Sports' tennis game franchise. Here are new screenshots.
Oh yes, I just uploaded my first video, horrible quality though, sorry about that, I don't know if my computer can handle any better. Ah well, here it is:
Actually, I think if you minimize it a bit, it works better, or looks better anyways, try it.
Wow, Call of Duty 5 is already playable? It's supposedly being created by Treyarch on the same engine that CoD4 was made on. Also, the setting would be on the Pacific in WWII.
The game will come out on the PS3, 360, DS, PC, and PS2 and Wii. What an immense number wouldn't you say? With that though, I don't think we can expect that much from the PS2 and Wii versions as with the PS3, 360 and PC versions.
Oh, well it's quite successful. In just 10 years and 4 months from December of 1997, it has reached over 50 million copies sold from 7 Gran Turismo games.
Wait, seven? How'd that happen? Well there are these two other games that never came to North America. Well, I guess you could call them demos.
Gran Turismo Concept 2001 TOKYO and Gran Turismo 4 Prologue never hit NA and so you might never have heard of them. Although I don't think those were that great considering they only got 1.36 million - 1.56 million copies sold.
But as we all know, Gran Turismo is a very successful franchise, but did you know that Kazunori Yamauchi, Producer of Gran Turismo, had originally thought of GT as an alternative racing game? He just seems to be blown away that someone has purchased any Gran Turismo over 50 million times. And this includes downloads for GT5P.
I also doubt that you wouldn't know the best selling title: Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec. And second to it by 3 million copies is the original Gran Turismo. Surprised? I don't know, GT3 was quite good, even though I don't have the attention span to finish it 100% as I once did, it's still really well done.
Hit the jump for the sales figures and the press release.
Looks pretty good, but I have to say, that water looks like it was created in the early stages of the PS2 days. I hope this is fixed within the next 60% of the Pre-Alpha stage. Other than that, the vegetation looks cool and the Monster Trucks look appetizine.
Jonathan Mak, you might remember him, yeah, he solely created Everyday Shooter. That game which was $9.99 USD and will be $9.99 USD on Steam as well, but for now it'll be at $8.99 USD.
This game is abnormaly fun, I would know from experience with it, and is worth a purchase from you the consumer.
So here's this new clip of Crash Bandicoot Mind Over Mutant.
When did he get a mohawk and tatoos? This game is going to be on the Wii. Sad Playstation owners? Doesn't look great to me, but hey, it might to you. Also on the DS, PSP, PS2 and 360. Headed out this Fall.
